Summer 2012 REU Poster: Battery Separator Layers with Thermally-Responsive Ion-Transport

Monday, July 30, 2012 2:00pm - 2:20pm EDT
Host: Battery Separator Layers
By: Mathew Boyer, REU Program 2012, Clemson University and Amit Jha, REU Program 2012, Clemson University

A novel approach for electrochemically synthesizing porous polymer separator layers of phenolic derivatives for electrochemical cells on modified Polyaniline gold electrodes.

An anlysis of the modifcation of electrode surfaces with poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) to create a thermally responsive layer that selectively inhibits ion transport to and from the electrode.
